Nghe An football team won second prize in the Mini World Cup football tournament in Korea.

(Baonghean.vn) - After many qualifying rounds, surpassing 26 opponents from many countries to win a ticket to the final round, the Choa Dan 37 FC football team (representing Nghe An workers in Korea) won second prize in the Mini Worldcup football tournament organized by the Korean Labor Support Center in Ansan city recently.

This is an annual football tournament organized by the Korean Labor Support Center once a year for workers and students from different countries living, studying and working in Korea. In addition to the purpose of connecting and creating opportunities for workers from different countries to exchange with each other, the tournament also aims to create a healthy playground, helping everyone to exercise, and coordinate smoothly between production labor and sports activities.

The football matches were fierce.

Participating in this tournament are 28 teams from countries such as Korea, China, Nigeria, Thailand, Indonesia, Uranda, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Liberia, East Timor... Among them, there are 3 teams from Nghe An representing more than 100 thousand Vietnamese people living, studying and working in Korea participating in the tournament, which are Choa Dan 37 FC, Xu Nghe Korea FC and Nghe Tinh FC.

The football tournament attracted a large audience to cheer.

After many group stages with many fierce matches, many interesting plays attracting the audience, 2 out of 3 teams from the cradle of Vietnamese football have entered the top 16 strongest teams, which are Choa Dan 37 FC and Xu Nghe Korea FC.

However, in the knockout round, the Nghe An Korea FC team was forced to stop when losing to strong opponents. Choa Dan 37 FC in turn overcame opponents Indonesia and Myanmar in the 1/16 and 1/8 rounds, surprisingly defeating the team from the "Black Continent" Uganda with a score of 1-0 to secure a place in the final round with Nigeria.

The final match was exciting and fierce with no clear winner between the two teams. However, in the last minutes of extra time, Choa Dan 37 FC was unlucky when the opponent scored a goal with a score of 0 - 1, and took the runner-up position of the tournament.

This is the fourth time that teams from Nghe An have reached the finals of the Mini World Cup tournament for foreigners in the “Land of Kim Chi”. It is known that the three previous times were FC Nghe Korea with one time being crowned in the highest position.
