(Baonghean.vn) - After going through many qualifying rounds and overcoming 26 opponents from many countries to win a ticket to the final round, the Choa Dan 37 FC team (representing Nghe An workers in Korea) won second place in the Mini World Cup football tournament organized by the Korean Labor Support Center in Ansan city recently.

This is an annual football tournament organized by the Korea Labor Support Center for workers and students from various countries living, studying, and working in Korea. Besides connecting and creating opportunities for interaction among workers from different countries, the tournament also aims to provide a healthy recreational activity, helping everyone improve their health and foster a harmonious balance between work and sports.

The football matches were fiercely contested.

This tournament features 28 teams from countries such as South Korea, China, Nigeria, Thailand, Indonesia, Uruguay, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Liberia, East Timor, etc. Among them, there are 3 teams from Nghe An province representing over 100,000 Vietnamese people living, studying, and working in South Korea: Choa Dan 37 FC, Xu Nghe Korea FC, and Nghe Tinh FC.

The football tournament attracted a large number of spectators who came to cheer on the teams.

After several group stages with many fiercely contested matches and exciting plays that captivated the audience, two of the three teams from Vietnam's footballing cradle have made it into the top 16: Choa Dan 37 FC and Xu Nghe Korea FC.

However, in the knockout rounds, the Xứ Nghệ Korea FC team was forced to stop after losing to strong opponents. Meanwhile, Choa Dân 37 FC successively overcame Indonesia and Myanmar in the round of 16 and round of 8, and surprisingly defeated Uganda with a score of 1-0 to secure a spot in the final against Nigeria.

The final match was exciting and fiercely contested, with neither team gaining the upper hand. However, in the final minutes of injury time, Choa Dan 37 FC was unlucky to concede a goal, resulting in a 0-1 defeat and securing the runner-up position in the tournament.
