(Baonghean.vn) - In the past five years alone, SLNA has parted ways with dozens of quality players trained by the club itself, who were once key players for the Vietnamese national teams. If these players were to join forces with foreign players, they would certainly form a very strong team in the V.League.

Goalkeeper: Tran Nguyen Manh

Midfielder: Ngo Hoang Thinh

After the 2015 V.League season, Ngo Hoang Thinh left SLNA to join Thanh Hoa and is now playing for Ho Chi Minh City FC. The player, born in 1992, has just been called up to the national team by coach Park Hang-seo to prepare for the matches against UAE and Thailand. (Photo: Archival image)

Midfielder: Ho Khac Ngoc

Midfielder Ho Khac Ngoc has been the orchestrator of SLNA's playing style in recent seasons. It is highly likely he will join Viettel next season. Khac Ngoc is also striving to return to the national team in the future. Photo: Duc Anh

Midfielder: Nguyen Trong Hoang

Midfielder Nguyen Trong Hoang is the player who left the most regrets for SLNA fans during the V.League pre-season. Due to financial difficulties, the Nghe An team was unable to recall the player born in 1989. Photo: Hai Hoang

Midfielder: Tran Phi Son

At the end of the 2017 V.League season, SLNA parted ways with midfielder Tran Phi Son. The midfielder, born in 1992, joined Ho Chi Minh City FC on a three-year contract. The player from Ha Tinh province was also one of the successful stars at the Nghe An team. Photo: Thanh Cuong

Forward: Vu Quang Nam

Striker Vu Quang Nam was once an outstanding player and the top scorer in the 2012 National U21 Championship. His contract with Ho Chi Minh City FC has expired, and his future remains uncertain after the 2019 season ends. Besides Quang Nam, there's also "king of youth tournaments" Nguyen Dinh Bao, currently playing for Saigon FC. Photo: Duc Anh

Forward: Michael Olaha

Foreign player Michael Olaha is also a discovery for SLNA over the past three years. The Nigerian-born player is currently attracting interest from many V.League teams after his contract with SLNA expires. Photo: Duc Anh

If the aforementioned squad were combined with coach Nguyen Huu Thang – who also led SLNA for many years – the Nghe An team would certainly be capable of winning the V.League championship. Of course, that's just in the imagination; in reality, the amount of money needed to bring back that squad would not be small. Graphics: Trung Kien
