Hung Nguyen Team won First Prize in the Fire Fighting and Rescue Competition of Nghe An Province in 2024

Attending the opening ceremony of the contest were comrade Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments, branches and 21 teams from districts, cities and towns.

Fire prevention, fire fighting and rescue work is very important for socio-economic development and has always received special attention and direction from the Party, State, Government and Ministry of Public Security.

In Nghe An, closely following the direction of the Central Government and based on the practical situation and local characteristics, in recent times, the Provincial People's Committee has always paid attention to leadership and direction for this work and has issued many policies and strategies to prioritize the construction and implementation of fire prevention, fire fighting and rescue work to promptly meet practical requirements.

In particular, based on identifying potential risks of fire and explosion in residential areas, households and types of housing combined with production and business in the province, recently, the Provincial People's Committee has focused on directing localities to strengthen the review, construction and replication of the model of "Inter-family fire safety groups".

In 2023, the whole province has built 1,079 models of "Fire prevention and fighting inter-family safety groups" and 2,171 public fire fighting points to prevent and stop fires and explosions in accordance with the motto "4 on-site" and make good use of the "golden time" in fire fighting.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Hong Vinh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee praised the achievements in fire prevention and fighting of units and localities, the effectiveness of the fire prevention and fighting teams at the grassroots level. At the same time, he hoped that the teams would have high determination and solidarity, and compete with all their might.

Through the contest, we will convey vivid, visual images of fire prevention, fire fighting and rescue to the masses, gradually raising people's awareness of fire prevention and fighting; promoting the movement of the whole people participating in fire prevention and fighting.

This year's competition gathered 21 teams from 21 districts, cities and towns in the province. The teams were excellent inter-family groups selected from the district-level competition.

In the provincial round, the teams must go through 2 rounds including a theoretical round: The teams will answer questions about fire prevention, fire fighting and rescue. Practical round: The teams must simultaneously rescue people, put out fires, and move property for housing combined with production and business.

After 2 rounds of exciting competition, Hung Nguyen district team won the first prize overall when they topped both the theory and practice rounds. The second prize overall belonged to Thanh Chuong team and the third prize belonged to Vinh city team.

With this result, Hung Nguyen district will represent Nghe An province to participate in the Regional competition with 14 provinces and cities including: Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Quang Ngai, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan. In this round, the 3 best teams will be selected to participate in the National Final round.
