Couple of lovers trafficked 'white goods' together and then ended up in jail together
(Baonghean.vn) - Toan and Anh had a romantic relationship. To have money to spend, they both bought and sold drugs. In the end, Toan was sentenced to life in prison and his lover was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
On July 19, the People's Court of Nghe An province opened a first-instance criminal trial against defendants Ha Van Toan (born in 1993), residing in Muong Noc commune (Que Phong) and Vi Ngoc Anh (born in 1991), residing in Kim Son town (Que Phong) for the crime of "Illegal trading of narcotics". In addition, defendant Toan was alsoprosecuteadditional charges of "Illegal possession of narcotics".
According to the indictment, in early July 2020, Ha Van Toan went to work on wood and met a Mong man named Cua. This man asked Toan to find someone to buy drugs, the price of 1 kg of crystal meth was 130 million VND. At this time, Cua gave Toan a package of pink drugs to store for use.

At this time, Toan had a relationship with Vi Ngoc Anh. Toan told Anh to find customers to buy drugs. Therefore, Anh contacted Pham Hong Tai, residing in Thai Hoa town, to ask him to find "customers" for her.
On July 18, 2020, Anh and Toan met Tai and his friend at a motel. There, Toan and the “guest” agreed to buy 1 kg of drugs for 130 million VND.
There was a “customer” buying drugs, Toan contacted Cua to get the “goods”. Cua promised to give Toan 10 million VND. On the afternoon of July 19, 2020, Toan drove Anh to get the drugs, then hid them in the bushes and arranged a location to deliver the goods to Tai.
When arriving at the appointed location, Toan went to get drugs to deliver to Tai. When Toan returned, he was discovered by the Quy Hop District Police and 830.805 grams of drugs were confiscated. Anh was also arrested by the police shortly thereafter.
At the trial, the defendants confessed to their crimes. The two defendants said they had trafficked drugs because of greed. Notably, Toan had previously served 7 years in prison for drug-related crimes.
Considering the case as a whole, the People's Court sentenced defendant Ha Van Toan to life in prison for "Illegal drug trafficking" and 7 years in prison for "Illegal drug possession", with a total sentence oflife. Sentenced defendant Vi Thi Anh to 20 years in prison for "Illegal drug trafficking".
