Since Group A has 5 teams, the Vinh City Youth team did not play in the first round of Group A. This match against the Yen Thanh Youth team is the first game for the Red City team in the tournament.

The Vinh City team is eager to secure their first victory on their journey to reclaim their former glory. The Vinh City Youth team holds the "record" with 14 championships in 24 editions of the tournament. However, their most recent victory was in 2014.
