(Baonghean.vn) - In order to help farmers harvest their crops during the social distancing period, the people of My Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, have formed an effective volunteer team.

Mr. Pham Cong Duyen, the team leader of the volunteer group, said: "Initially, this model was implemented in My hamlet and worked quite effectively, so the group decided to spread and expand it throughout the entire commune. Currently, the team has 35 volunteers, including 16 porters, 17 trucks and tractors. 'Farmers only need one person to carry the sacks to the field. The team's vehicles will go directly to the field, and the volunteers will load and transport the rice home completely free of charge for the people,' Mr. Duyen said." (Photo: Cong Bach)

Reportedly, My Thanh commune has 12 hamlets with 350 hectares of summer-autumn rice crops. To date, about two-thirds of the fields have been harvested. These days, taking advantage of the sunny weather, the volunteer team is working actively, sometimes working until noon, and sometimes not returning home until 8 or 9 PM. Hundreds of tons of rice from the fields have been carefully transported home for the farmers by the volunteer team. Mr. Pham Cong Tuan, Vice Chairman of the People's Council of My Thanh commune, said: "During this time, the volunteer team's timely and active work has brought practical benefits to the farmers, contributing to spreading beautiful acts of kindness and warmth during the social distancing period to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic in the locality."
