Lovers and their daring "nighttime" affairs in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - After nightfall, Phong took his girlfriend on his motorbike pretending to go out but in reality he was just wandering around looking for "bait". For two consecutive nights, the couple stole two motorbikes by using a pliers to break the lock.
On the afternoon of February 27, Tan Ky District People's Court tried the criminal case against Pham Van Phong, born in 1994, residing in Thuan Dau hamlet, Khanh Hoa commune, Yen Khanh district (Ninh Binh) and Truong Thi Nham, born in 1992, residing in Ke Nang hamlet, Nghia Phuc commune, Tan Ky district for the crime of property theft.
According to the indictment: between November 24 and November 25, 2018, Phong and Nham (lovers) committed two motorbike thefts. Specifically, at around 7:30 p.m. on November 24, 2018, after dinner, Phong took Nham out on an Airblade, carrying a lock-breaking tool.
While passing by Ms. Oanh's house in Phuc Thanh hamlet in the same commune, Phong discovered that the Wave alpha motorbike with license plate 37 N1-233.22 was unattended, so he decided to steal it.

While Nham was waiting, Phong used a crowbar to break the lock and steal Oanh's motorbike, removed the license plate and put it in the trunk. Phong drove Oanh's motorbike, and Nham drove his Airblade straight to Do Luong.
Phong parked the motorbike he had just stolen at Mr. Quy's house in Hamlet 8, Hong Son Commune, Do Luong District. Phong lied that his girlfriend's motorbike had been in an accident and he couldn't control it. Then they both went to Nham's house to sleep.
On the morning of November 25, 2018, using the same trick, Phong broke the lock and stole a Yamaha Sirius motorbike with license plate 37N1-005.41 belonging to Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, residing in Hamlet 11, Tan Huong Commune (Tan Ky). Phong then continued to drive the stolen motorbike, while Nham drove the Airblade to Do Luong.
When they arrived, Phong left the stolen car on the side of the road and then both went to Mr. Quy's house to ask for the stolen car that they had left last night. However, because they could not show the car's papers as Mr. Quy requested, they could not get the car and left.
Due to lack of money, both of them sold the Airblade to a stranger in Do Luong for 4 million VND. As for Ms. Huong's motorbike, Phong took it to Hai Phong city as a means of transportation.
Asset valuation report No. 31 dated December 4, 2018 of the Tan Ky District Asset Valuation Council concluded that the two motorbikes stolen by the couple had a total value of 29.8 million VND. Currently, the two motorbikes have been recovered and returned to their owners.
At the end of the trial, the panel sentenced Phong to 30 months in prison and Nham to 6 months in prison. It is known that Phong had previously had 3 previous convictions for theft, with a total prison sentence of 72 months, and his criminal record has not been cleared.
