In this afternoon's friendly match (July 22nd) against Konkuk University (South Korea) - a university specializing in football training in South Korea - the SLNA U21 team, with the addition of Nguyen Phu Nguyen from the first team, played quite confidently.
In the first half, SLNA's second-string team held their opponents to a 1-1 draw, with Ho Phuc Tinh scoring from the penalty spot. In the second half, 10 new SLNA U21 players were brought onto the field to test their skills after a day of training. Nguyen Phu Nguyen and Tran Dinh Tien scored alternately, bringing the match to a 3-3 draw.

Following their bronze medal win at the 2017 National U21 Championship, this year Song Lam Nghe An Club is hosting the regional qualifying round 1, which includes four teams: Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, and Song Lam Nghe An.
The U21 players participating in this year's tournament are aged between 16 and 21 (born between January 1, 1997 and December 31, 2002). Therefore, no players from the SLNA first team have been promoted to the SLNA U21 team.
The qualifying rounds for this year's National U21 Football Championship will take place from August 5th to August 11th, 2018. The finals will be held from November 7th to November 17th, 2018 at Tu Do Stadium in Hue City.
