The ringleader of a large gambling den in Do Luong has been arrested.

Previously, on September 30, 2021, more than 50 officers from the Criminal Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police raided a gambling den in Hamlet 6, Trang Son Commune, Do Luong District, seizing 700 million VND, 5 cars, and 16 motorcycles.
The gambling den was discovered inside a chicken farm belonging to Nguyen Van Dong; it was a large-scale gambling operation, highly professional in its organization.
In particular, Nguyen Van Dong's chicken farm, used by Nguyen Van Tu, Truong Xuan Thanh, and Nguyen Hai Dang to organize gambling, was protected by a barbed wire fence and guarded by lookouts. In connection with the crackdown on this gambling den, the Criminal Police Department arrested 23 individuals for organizing and participating in gambling.

Regarding the crackdown on the gambling den, on the morning of October 3, 2021, under the direct guidance of the provincial police leadership, units including the Mobile Police Department (Nghe An Provincial Police), the Do Luong District Police, and the Criminal Police Department (Nghe An Provincial Police) assisted and coordinated in searching the residences of 6 suspects in Do Luong town.
The individuals involved in organizing and participating in gambling, including Nguyen Van Dong (born 1980), Nguyen Van Tu (born 1991), Truong Xuan Thanh (born 1988), Nguyen Hai Dang (born 1986), Nguyen Van Vinh (born 1991), and Nguyen Trong Thai (born 1988), were apprehended by the police. The police seized knives, swords, handcuffs, and a compressed air gun firing lead pellets.

The aforementioned individuals were arrested by the police, except for Nguyen Van Dong (commonly known as Dong Lan), who escaped. The Criminal Police Department identified him as the ringleader, organizing the entire gambling den in the chicken farm in Do Luong district. Dong remotely managed all gambling activities, instructing his subordinates to conduct the gambling according to his instructions.
