On November 14th, the Mobile Police Regiment of the Hanoi Police Department announced that they are temporarily detaining Cao Duc Phu (37 years old, residing in Trung Van ward, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi) for possessing a large quantity of methamphetamine.

Specifically, at approximately 11:40 PM on November 10th, a task force from Company 1, Battalion 3, consisting of Captain Nguyen The Dung, Lieutenant Nguyen Trong Giao, Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Duy Hung, and Lieutenant Le Trung Thanh, was on duty on Chien Thang Street (Van Quan Ward, Ha Dong District) when they spotted a young man walking with a bag, exhibiting several suspicious behaviors.

The task force immediately pursued the suspect. Upon realizing they were following him, the young man pulled out a knife and resisted, injuring Captain Dung. He was subsequently subdued and disarmed by the authorities.

Authorities searched Phu's bag and found nearly 1,600 ecstasy pills, 4 packets of white powder suspected to be drugs, and over 60 million VND in cash.

Phu stated that the entire quantity of goods consisted of methamphetamine and heroin, and the money was for payment during drug transactions. It is known that the suspect has three previous convictions.
