Chinese national smashes car windows and steals billions of Vietnamese dong.
The suspects would monitor people withdrawing money from banks, and when they spotted someone keeping cash in their car, they would take advantage of the opportunity, break into the car, and steal the money.
On April 5th, the Ha Long City Police in Quang Ninh province issued a decision to initiate criminal proceedings against Zeng Zhi Tao (born in 1976), a Chinese national, for breaking car windows and stealing property from a vehicle.

Initially, the suspect confessed to entering Vietnam through the Mong Cai border gate, using a motorbike to observe people withdrawing money from banks. When he spotted someone keeping money in a car, he took advantage of the opportunity, broke into the car, and successfully stole money in numerous incidents, amounting to billions of dong.
Along with the decision to prosecute the case, the police also issued a warning about the increasing number of thefts of property from cars and advised people to increase their awareness of protecting their property, limiting the risk of criminals taking advantage of the situation to commit crimes.
