On April 18, 2023, while tying the wood for the buffalo to pull back, I was discovered by the inspection team of Thanh Chuong Forest Protection Department and Thanh Ha Commune People's Committee.

HVV also stated that on April 5, 2023, V. met a man named N. in Thanh Mai commune and asked about the road construction to transport acacia, if there was any wood around that area, and N. replied that there was only small wood. Then V. went up to see to cut some pieces to build a straw house.
On April 26, 2023, Thanh Chuong Forest Protection Department and Thanh Chuong District Police continued to summon HVV to take his statement. This time, HVV clearly stated the details of borrowing a chainsaw from Mr. TVH, who lives in the same village, to go to Ru Do area (bordering Thanh Ha and Thanh Mai communes) to log wood. The logging time was April 13 (not April 15 as recorded in the testimony on April 20). Only his wife and Mr. TVH knew that HVV went to log wood. Initially, V. planned to go to the Giang Man peak area to log wood, but on the way to Ru Do, when he saw wood on both sides of the road, he cut it down.

It is worth mentioning that the subject HVV only confessed to cutting 7 trees, cutting 13 pieces, while at the scene of the deforestation, the authorities discovered 30 round logs of various types (mainly groups VI to VIII). In addition, in the area surrounding lot 42, plot 201 mentioned above, 29 trees with diameters from 28-36 cm were also discovered cut close to the base.
