The Nghe An Muay Thai team won 1 gold medal and 2 bronze medals at the National Championship.

At the conclusion of the 2026 National Muay Club Championship held in Gia Lai province, the Nghe An Muay team won 1 Gold Medal and 2 Bronze Medals.

The 2026 National Muay Club Championship took place from March 1st to 11th in Gia Lai province, bringing together nearly 400 athletes from 41 clubs across 24 provinces, cities, and sectors nationwide. These are areas with strong Muay Thai movements, thus providing many exciting competitions.

The athletes competed in two categories: kata and kumite (sparring). The kata category included Wai Kru and Mai Muay forms for both men and women. The kumite category was divided into two age groups: 15–16 years old and 17–40 years old, with competitions in various weight classes.

Participating in this year's tournament, the Nghe An Muay Thai team had 4 athletes competing in the sparring events. With a determined fighting spirit, the fighters from Nghe An left their mark by winning a total of 1 Gold Medal and 2 Bronze Medals.

The gold medal for Muay Thai in Nghe An went to fighter Luong Xuan Hop in the 91kg weight category, age group 17–40.

In addition, two bronze medals were won by Nguyen Thi Bao Yen in the 54kg weight category and Nguyet Thi Kim Linh in the nearly 57kg weight category, both in the 15-16 age group.

At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee awarded a total of 43 sets of medals to outstanding athletes in both the kata and sparring categories. In the 15-16 age group sparring category, Thanh Hoa 1 team won first place overall, Hanoi 1 came second, and Ho Chi Minh City 1 came third. Meanwhile, in the 17-40 age group, Hanoi 1 won first place overall, Ho Chi Minh City 1 came second, and Thanh Hoa 1 came third.

According to the Organizing Committee, the tournament is an opportunity for localities to assess the training movement, coaching capacity, and to create opportunities for athletes to gain experience and improve their professional skills. This is also an important preparatory step for selecting athletes for international tournaments in 2026.
