(Baonghean.vn) - On November 20th, the People's Committee of Thanh Hung and Thanh Phong communes (Thanh Chuong district) and the Phan Dinh family clan solemnly held a ceremony to receive the Certificate recognizing the Phan Dinh family church and the temple and tomb of Hau Han as a Provincial-level Historical Relic.

The Phan Dinh family in Thanh Hung commune has a history of nearly 800 years and has made many contributions to their homeland, most notably the contributions of father and son Hau Giam and Hau Han, who lived in the 13th century.

Mr. Hau Giam (name unknown) passed the doctoral examination in the 15th year of Thien Ung Chinh Binh (1246), and was appointed as the Imperial Censor and concurrently the Administrator of the Thirteen Provinces. He made great contributions to attracting people to settle and establish villages, opening schools to teach children in the region, and was one of the founders of the tradition of studiousness in Thanh Chuong district.

Mr. Hau Han - Phan Dinh Sinh passed the doctoral examination in the year Tan Hoi (1251) during the reign of King Tran Thai Tong, and was appointed to the position of Han Lam scholar in the Han Lam Academy. Besides his duties in the court, he also continued his father's work of promoting land reclamation, attracting people to establish villages, and opening schools. After the deaths of both father and son, the villagers revered them as deities and built temples to worship them.

Currently, the Phan Dinh family ancestral temple in Hamlet 7, Thanh Hung Commune, and the Hau Han temple in Ru Ro Hamlet, Thanh Phong Commune, are ancient spiritual architectural structures. The Phan Dinh ancestral temple consists of three buildings, and the Hau Han temple consists of two buildings; both are relatively intact and bear the distinct architectural imprint of their respective historical periods.

At the Phan Dinh family church, there are currently three royal decrees from the Nguyen dynasty bestowing divine status upon Mr. Hau Giam, one royal decree from the Le dynasty, and four royal decrees from the Nguyen dynasty bestowing divine status upon Mr. Hau Han.

With a history spanning hundreds of years, the Phan Dinh family church, temple, and tomb of Hau Han have been recognized as provincial-level historical relics by the People's Committee of Nghe An province, through decisions 3314/QD.UBND and 3315/QD.UBND signed on July 8, 2016.
