Tam Hop commune has 530 households and 2,600 inhabitants, with 235 poor households accounting for 40.38%. The people's income mainly depends on slash-and-burn farming and small-scale livestock raising, so the lives of the people here are facing many difficulties. Based on this situation, the Tam Hop Border Guard Post organized a "Zero-Cost Shop" for the poor right within the unit's premises. Photo: Dinh Tuan

The organization of the "Zero-Cost Booth" aims to share some of the difficulties and help people improve their lives, while also demonstrating the affection and responsibility of the district's armed forces in caring for the lives of the poor. This further strengthens the solidarity between the military and the people in the border region of the Fatherland. Photo: Dinh Tuan

Therefore, the officers and soldiers in the unit have collaborated with charitable organizations to donate essential goods to set up a "Zero-Cost Stall" to help alleviate the difficulties faced by the people. Mr. Luong Van Hung, from Van Mon village, Tam Hop commune, said: “When I heard that the Border Guard Post was organizing a ‘zero-cost’ stall, I came here early this morning to choose a warm jacket for myself to wear in the winter. There are many jackets here, but I only chose one that suits me, not many because I want to leave some for others.” Photo: Dinh Tuan
