According to RIA Novosti, former adviser to Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma, Oleg Soskin, said that Russia's attacks on various Ukrainian cities have caused confusion for President Volodymyr Zelensky.

On September 4, explosions occurred in Ukraine's Lviv and Sumy regions, as well as in Krivoy Rog, Dnepropetrovsk region. A day earlier, the Russian military launched an Iskander missile attack on Ukraine's Poltava Military Communications Academy. Ukrainian officials said at least 40 people were killed and more than 219 others were injured.

“President Zelensky’s reaction is very important – his task now is to keep quiet and try to “clean up” Poltava so that no one remembers. And there were strikes in Krivoy Rog – this is Zelensky’s hometown,” said former presidential adviser Oleg Soskin.

Poltava, a city of more than 280,000 people, is one of Ukraine's important military centers, located about 160 kilometers from the Russian border. The city is on the main road connecting Kiev with Kharkov - Ukraine's second largest city.

The “most severe Russian attack since the start of Russia’s special military operation” on Poltava has drawn sharp criticism from Ukraine’s leadership. Frontelligence Insight, an analysis group run by a former Ukrainian officer, said it was not the first time Russia had targeted a mass facility. “It seems that many generals have not learned some basic lessons, even in the third year of the conflict,” the group said.

Agreeing with Mr. Soskin, many opinions say that President Zelensky's announcement about investigating the incident and then letting everything go again is not enough.
