American billionaire Donald Trump is accused of violating US law after reports emerged that he had broken a trade embargo against Cuba.

"We have laws in our country, and the efforts that Mr. Trump has made to penetrate the Cuban market—putting his business interests before U.S. law and doing business despite the embargo—show that he is someone who will put his personal and business interests before the law, values, and policies of the United States," Clinton alleged.

Previously, the newspaperNewsweekReports indicate that a company owned by Republican presidential candidate Trump secretly conducted business in Cuba, violating the US embargo against Havana.

Accordingly, Trump's company is accused of spending at least $68,000 in Cuba in 1998.

Trump's spokeswoman, Kellyanne Conway, said the company did not spend the money and that Trump had opposed dealings with Cuba.

During his presidential campaign, billionaire Trump repeatedly stated that he had rejected offers to invest in Cuba.

HoweverNewsweekIt was reported that Trump's company had channeled cash through an American consulting firm to legitimize the matter.

"I hope the Trump campaign will focus on answering some of the questions on this issue because if the news report is true, then I'm really concerned about it," said Cuban-American Congressman Marco Rubio of Florida, a supporter of the Trump campaign.
