(Baonghean.vn) - US President-elect Donald Trump has sent invitations to senior leaders of many well-known technology corporations such as Apple, Facebook, Google, etc., to attend a summit at Trump Tower, New York City this coming Wednesday.

Invitations were sent last week to nearly 10 Silicon Valley leaders, including Apple CEO Tim Cook; Alphabet CEO Larry Page; Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg; Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella; Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins; IBM CEO Ginni Rometty; Intel CEO Brian Krzanich; and Oracle CEO Safra Catz. Additionally, two other leaders who may have received invitations are Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and the highly prominent Elon Musk, co-CEO of Tesla and SpaceX.

Those responsible for sending out Trump's invitations were reportedly Trump's chief of staff, Reince Preibus; investor and Trump supporter, billionaire Peter Thiel; and Trump's son-in-law and advisor, Jared Kushner. This team went to great lengths to persuade senior executives from leading technology companies to attend the conference, given Trump's consistently anti-tech rhetoric throughout his campaign.

Previously, a contentious issue was Trump's desire for Apple to manufacture its products, including iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks, in the United States, instead of in China and other countries as it currently does. The animosity between Trump and Apple has been ongoing for quite some time, dating back to when he called for a boycott of Apple after they refused to help the FBI unlock a criminal's iPhone.

According to sources in the US, although reluctantly, the majority of CEOs who received invitations will attend the upcoming fourth summit to collaborate and find common ground with the White House leader. Of course, there will inevitably be those who avoid Trump, citing reasons such as the invitations arriving too late and scheduling conflicts. We will provide further updates after the summit officially takes place.
