Catholics in Nghe An share difficulties and stand with the nation

(Baonghean.vn) - In 2020, the Provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee and parishioners have made many contributions to the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic and natural disasters, storms and floods, accompanying and sharing the difficulties of the homeland. That was the speech of comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee at the Conference of the Provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee.

On the afternoon of December 14, in Vinh city, the Provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee held the 7th Conference, term 2017 - 2022 and celebrated the Feast of theChristmasyear 2020.

Attending the conference were comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; members of the Provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee, comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, leaders of provincial departments, branches and Fatherland Front Committees of districts, cities and towns.

Speaking at the Conference, Comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh expressed her joy at attending the meeting to celebrate Christmas and sent to the dignitaries, monks, members of the Catholic Solidarity Committee and Catholics in the whole province her best wishes, wishing a warm, peaceful, happy and God-filled Christmas 2020.

The Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee also acknowledged and sincerely thanked the contributions of the members of the Provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee and the Catholic people of the whole province who have made many contributions in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic and natural disasters, storms and floods, accompanying and sharing the difficulties of the homeland.

At the same time, we hope that through practical actions, dignitaries, monks, nuns, members of the Catholic Solidarity Committee and Catholics in the whole province will continue to promote the tradition of patriotic emulation, accompany the nation, build a life of "good life, good religion", "respect God, love the country", always stick together and join hands with the people of the whole province to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws...

In 2020, the active activities ofCatholic Solidarity CommitteeIn Nghe An province, Catholic people have strived to overcome difficulties, boldly transformed the economic structure, applied scientific and technical advances to production, introduced new varieties with high productivity and economic value into production, contributing to increasing output and productivity, reaching an average of over 11 tons/ha/year.

Commercial service business activities and industry development continue to be boldly invested in by many households, bringing high income, contributing to job creation, increasing income, thereby joining hands with Party committees and authorities at all levels to reduce the rate of poor households and increase the number of well-off and rich households. The rate of well-off and rich households among Catholics in 2020 was 53%, the rate of poor households decreased to 8%.

During the year,parishionersdonated 14,534 m2land, dismantled 8,400m of surrounding walls, cut down 1,230 trees of all kinds, participated in 13,646 working days, contributed 12.6 billion VND, built 100km of new rural concrete roads. Since then, they have contributed to making their homeland more and more spacious and clean, bringing 125 communes with Catholics to the new rural commune standards.

The Catholic Solidarity Committees have encouraged the parishioners to effectively carry out the movements of building "Peaceful parishes", "Solidarity to join hands to build new countryside", learn from good people and good deeds, care for the cause of education, preserve and promote good moral values.
