The Central Committee of the Party elected Comrade Le Hoai Trung, Member of the Central Committee and Head of the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Department, to the position of Member of the Central Secretariat of the Party for the 13th term.

During this workday,morning:The Central Committee of the Party met in the meeting hall to discuss the summary of 15 years of implementing Resolution No. 27-NQ/TW, dated August 6, 2008, of the 10th Central Committee of the Party on building a team of intellectuals in the period of accelerating industrialization and modernization of the country.
Comrade Truong Thi Mai, Member of the Political Bureau, Standing Member of the Secretariat, and Head of the Central Organization Department, chaired the discussion on behalf of the Political Bureau.
The Central Committee of the Party elected Comrade Le Hoai Trung, Member of the Central Committee and Head of the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Department, to the position of Member of the Central Secretariat of the Party, 13th term; and elected additional members to the Central Inspection Committee, 13th term, including Comrades Dao The Hoang, Director of Department VI, Central Inspection Committee; Le Nguyen Nam Ninh, Director of the Research Department, Central Inspection Committee; and Major General Vu Hong Van, Director of the Internal Political Security Department, Ministry of Public Security.
Afternoon:The Central Committee of the Party held a working session to discuss the review of 20 years of implementing Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW, dated March 12, 2003, of the 9th Central Committee of the Party on promoting the strength of national unity for a prosperous people, a strong nation, and a just, democratic, and civilized society.
