Comrade Pham Minh Chinh holds the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Government.

On February 3rd, at the Party Central Headquarters, the Standing Committee of the Secretariat held a conference to announce the Politburo's decision on the establishment and personnel appointments of four Party Committees directly under the Central Committee, including the Party Committee of the Government.

At the conference, representatives from the Central Organizing Committee announced the Decision on the termination of the Government Party Committee's activities; the Decision on the establishment of the Government Party Committee; and the Decision on the functions, tasks, and organizational structure of the Government Party Committee.

Representatives from the Central Organizing Committee also announced the Politburo's decision: Appointing the Government Party Committee Executive Board for the 2020-2025 term, comprising 57 members; appointing the Government Party Committee Standing Committee for the 2020-2025 term, comprising 17 members; appointing Comrade Pham Minh Chinh - Member of the Politburo, Prime Minister - as Secretary of the Government Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term; and appointing four comrades as Deputy Secretaries of the Government Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, including: Nguyen Hoa Binh - Member of the Politburo, Standing Deputy Prime Minister - as Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; Le Thi Thuy - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Ha Nam Provincial Party Committee - as Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; Lai Xuan Lam - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Central Agencies Bloc - as Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; and Nguyen Duc Phong - Deputy Secretary of the Central Enterprise Bloc - as Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee.
