Comrade Thai Thanh Quy was elected Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
(Baonghean.vn) - Mr. Thai Thanh Quy was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2016-2021 term with an absolute number of 86/86 votes.
On the morning of October 1, the Provincial People's Council, term XVII, 2016 - 2021, held its 7th session to carry out personnel work under its authority.

Attending the meeting were comrades: Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrades in the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and provincial departments, branches and sectors.
Accordingly, in the spirit of democracy and responsibility, the meeting voted to elect the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for Mr. Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission.

As a result, Mr. Thai Thanh Quy was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2016 - 2021 term with an absolute number of 86/86 votes.

At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council voted to pass a Resolution confirming the election results of the Provincial People's Committee Chairman for the 2016-2021 term for Mr. Thai Thanh Quy.
Previously, the meeting dismissed and voted to pass a Resolution confirming the dismissal of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2016-2021 term for Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong, who is now retired according to the regime.
Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Thai Thanh Quy shared that being selected by the organization and trusted by the Provincial People's Council to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee is an honor, but at the same time, it also places on his shoulders a heavy responsibility before the Party Committee, government and people of the province.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Thai Thanh Quy also said that, taking on the task at a time when the province's development path has been determined in Resolution No. 26 of the Politburo with many goals specified in the Resolution of the 18th Provincial Party Congress; he himself will continue to try to devote all his mind, strength, and make the highest efforts, promote personal responsibility, build solidarity and unanimity, promote democracy to work with the Provincial People's Committee to effectively direct and implement solutions to develop socio-economic tasks, ensure national defense and security, contribute to the completion of the goals and tasks set out in the Resolution, and contribute to the development of Nghe An.
Next, the Provincial People's Council also voted to elect the position of Head of the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Committee for Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department. As a result, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department was elected to hold the position of Head of the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Committee for the 2016-2021 term with 86/86 votes. The meeting also voted to pass the Resolution confirming the election results of the Head of the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Committee for Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department.

The Provincial People's Council also voted to pass a Resolution confirming the results of the dismissal of Mr. Ho Phuc Hop from the position of Head of the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Affairs Committee for the 2016-2021 term, now transferred to hold the position of Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee.
Speaking at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council acknowledged the efforts and thanked comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong and comrade Ho Phuc Hop for their contributions in their elected positions, making important contributions to the socio-economic development, ensuring political security and social order and safety in the province in recent times, as well as contributing to the innovation, improvement of the quality and effectiveness of the Provincial People's Council's operations for the 2016-2021 term.

Congratulating Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Thai Thanh Quy and Head of the Culture - Social Committee, Provincial People's Council Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, comrade Nguyen Xuan Son expressed his hope that the comrades would continue to promote their abilities, intelligence, and qualities to the highest level, and excellently complete the tasks assigned by the Party, government, and people, worthy of the trust and confidence of the Provincial People's Council delegates.
Emphasizing the heavy tasks in the last 3 months of the year, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Xuan Son requested all levels, sectors and individuals who have just been elected to new positions by the Provincial People's Council to urgently get to work, promote and inherit the achieved results, focus on leadership, direction and management to complete the goals and tasks of 2018 as set out in the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council, and at the same time prepare for the plan of 2019 and the following years.
