Comrade Vu Dai Thang holds the position of Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee.
The Politburo has assigned and appointed Comrade Vu Dai Thang to the position of Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee, and nominated him for election by the City People's Council to the position of Chairman of the Hanoi City People's Committee.
On the afternoon of November 28th, the Hanoi City Party Committee held a conference to announce the Politburo's decision on personnel matters. Attending the conference were Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc; Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong; Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Hanoi City People's Council Phung Thi Hong Ha; Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Trong Dong; members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee; and other members of the City Party Committee.
According to a decision of the Politburo, Comrade Vu Dai Thang, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, will cease his participation in the Provincial Party Committee and its Standing Committee, and will relinquish his position as Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term; he will be transferred and appointed to participate in the Hanoi City Party Committee and its Standing Committee, and will hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.
Comrade Vu Dai Thang was born in 1975 in Hanoi; his professional qualifications include a Master's degree in International Relations, a Bachelor's degree in Foreign Trade Economics, and a Bachelor's degree in Law; his political theory level is Advanced. He has held the following positions: Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment; Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee; Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee; Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, 12th term; Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, 13th term; and Member of the National Assembly, 15th term.
Previously, due to unforeseen health reasons and at his/her personal request, Comrade NNguyen Duc TrungHe was relieved of his duties as Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee by the Politburo and subsequently relieved of his duties as Chairman of the city by a decision of the City People's Council.
