Houses shook so badly people had to run into the street.

According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh, Director of the Institute of Geophysics, the earthquake had a magnitude of 7.3 and occurred at a depth of 10 km.

Meanwhile, the website of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) shows the earthquake as having a magnitude of 7.7. The German Geological Survey (GFZ) reported a magnitude of 6.9 in Myanmar and 7.3 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The earthquake's epicenter was initially determined to be at 21.90 degrees north latitude and 95.65 degrees east longitude. There is currently no information on casualties or damage caused by the earthquake, but it caused tremors in many areas, including Vietnam.

In Ho Chi Minh City, that afternoon, many residents in high-rise buildings in District 1, Phu Nhuan District, District 11, etc., reported feeling their buildings shake and had to run outside.

Living on the 16th floor of an apartment building in Hanoi, Mr. Luong said that at around 1:20 PM, his building shook violently, causing many people to panic.

"This is the first time in my life I've felt an earthquake so clearly, folks. Even on the 16th floor, it was shaking. I'm still shaken," Mr. Luong shared.

Meanwhile, Ms. Huong Giang, who lives in the Garden An Khanh building (Hoai Duc, Hanoi), said: "Suddenly, while living on a high floor, I felt the furniture in my house shaking violently for 5 minutes. It was truly terrifying."

Metro, the light rail system in Bangkok, has ceased operation.

According to the National Seismological Centre of India (NCS), the tremors were also felt in the capital New Delhi (India), Bangkok (Thailand), and other locations.

NCS continues to report another 7.0 magnitude earthquake at 1:32 PM at latitude 21.41 degrees North, longitude 95.43 degrees East. The epicenter was also located 10 km below zero. There are no reports of damage or casualties at this time.

An AFP reporter noted that the earthquake's tremors caused cracks in the road surface of the capital Naypyidaw, and pieces of ceiling fell from buildings. The tremors were also clearly felt in many areas of Yunnan province (China).

Aftershocks were also felt throughout northern Thailand and reached the capital Bangkok. People in many buildings shook and ran into the streets. Several metro and light rail lines in Bangkok were temporarily suspended.

Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has convened an "emergency meeting" to deal with the earthquake.

"I was sleeping in my house when I sensed it. I ran out of the building in my pajamas, running as far as I could," Duangjai, a resident of Chiang Mai, told AFP.
