Energizing 110kV Nam Cam Substation
On the afternoon of May 6, Nghe An Electricity Company organized the energization of the Nam Cam 110kV transmission line and transformer station. This is a project within the scope of the component project in the program "Efficient power grid in small and medium-sized cities" phase 2.
The ceremony was attended by Ms. Helga Margarete Barth - Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Vietnam. Also attending were Mr. Daniel Plankermann - Director of the German Development Bank (KfW) Office in Vietnam and members of the German Embassy and KfW Office in Vietnam.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Luong Minh Thanh - Deputy General Director of the Northern Power Corporation; Phung Thanh Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Also attending were Mr. Bang Hong Hien - Director of Nghe An Power Company and leaders of departments, Nghi Loc district, Nam Cam Industrial Park, Dong Nam Economic Zone and key officials of Nghe An Power Company.

The Nam Cam 110kV Power Line and Substation Project in Nghe An Province is part of the component project of the program "Efficient Power Grid in Small and Medium Cities" - Phase 2, funded by the German Government through the German Reconstruction Bank KfW.
The project started on September 29, 2021, implementing the construction of a new 110kV Nam Cam transformer station with a scale of 2 transformers, half-indoor, half-outdoor; building a 110kV connecting line with a length of 1.137km with 2 circuits. The station and line are built in Nghi Long commune, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province with a total investment of nearly 76 billion VND.

With the orientation of developing Nghe An into a key industrial - service province in the North Central region, the operation of the Nam Cam 110kV Transmission Line and Substation helps reduce the load on neighboring stations, increase the reliability and stability of the power system of the entire Nghi Loc district for industrial parks, meeting the demand for load development in a large area.
The project not only contributes to improving the quality of electricity but also creates favorable conditions for socio-economic development, attracting investment and creating jobs for local people. This is a project of strategic significance for Nghi Loc district and Nghe An province in the industrialization process.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Luong Minh Thanh - Deputy General Director of the Northern Power Corporation said that for many years, EVNNPC has received financial support in the form of preferential loans from the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany through the KfW Bank.
With access to loans from the German Government, EVNNPC's power grid system has achieved the goal of increasing power supply capacity, improving power quality, enhancing power supply reliability and ensuring safety standards for the distribution grid, while creating a premise for the development of smart grids according to the roadmap to modernize Vietnam's power system.

The 110kV Nam Cam transformer station is one of the projects built from loans from the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany through the German Reconstruction Bank KfW, one of the existing results for the cooperation between the two countries and especially for the Vietnamese electricity industry.
At the same time, the Deputy General Director of the Northern Power Corporation hopes to continue receiving financial and technical support from partners, including the Federal Republic of Germany, to continue improving the grid infrastructure to meet the diversity of power sources, especially the growth of renewable energy sources, green transformation, and adaptation to climate change.

Expressing her impression of the development speed of Vietnam's power grid system, power supply quality and power loss reduction in recent years, Ms. Helga Margarete Barth assessed that the rate of power loss on the power grid has continuously decreased in the past 15 years in Vietnam, contributing to building a lower carbon emission energy system.
Ms. Helga Margarete Barth said that over the past 15 years, Germany has supported Vietnam, specifically EVN, in modernizing energy infrastructure in a fair, sustainable manner, in line with social development.
Expanding grid infrastructure to ensure supply such as the Nam Cam 110kV Substation project is a prerequisite to promote renewable energy development.

The German Ambassador to Vietnam affirmed that cooperation in areas such as climate protection, renewable energy and economic cooperation is an opportunity for us to honor the long-standing and increasingly deep relationship between Vietnam and Germany.
Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Phung Thanh Vinh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and praised the efforts, urgency, seriousness and high responsibility of the Northern Power Corporation, Nghe An Power Company, construction contractors, supervisory units and related units to complete the project on schedule, ensuring technical requirements, quality and safety.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed: Nghe An province always identifies infrastructure development, especially electricity infrastructure, as one of the key tasks to create a solid foundation for industrial and socio-economic development. The completion and energization of the Nam Cam 110kV transmission line and transformer station today is a clear demonstration of the efforts and close and effective coordination between authorities at all levels, the Electricity sector, construction contractors and consulting and supervision units.
In the general development of the province, the People's Committee of Nghe An province acknowledges, highly appreciates and respects the support and investment cooperation of the Electricity sector in general, of the Northern Power Corporation and Nghe An Power Company in particular. In recent times, the electricity sector has promptly implemented synchronous solutions to ensure power sources to meet the socio-economic development needs of Nghe An province, especially power supply projects for industrial parks to meet the production progress of secondary investors.

At the same time, the leaders of Nghe An province are always aware of and share the difficulties and pressures of the Electricity sector in investing in power source and grid systems as well as in the management and operation process, especially in the context of increasingly depleted domestic primary energy supplies, the increasingly severe impacts of climate change; political conflicts have disrupted the supply chain, affecting the world energy market; negatively impacting all activities of economic and social life.
Nghe An Provincial People's Committee commits to direct relevant departments, branches, localities and units to promptly carry out relevant procedures according to regulations and create the best conditions for the Northern Power Corporation and its member units to implement investment projects to promptly meet the electricity needs of people and businesses, serving the socio-economic development of the province.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee believes that after the 110kV Nam Cam transformer station comes into operation, businesses in the industrial park will feel secure in investing and producing, contributing to creating strong breakthroughs in the economic development of the province.
At the same time, he affirmed that the operation of the 110kV Nam Cam transformer station is a good symbol of cooperation and development between the Federal Republic of Germany and Vietnam in general and Nghe An province in particular.
