Nam Cam 110kV Substation has been energized.
On the afternoon of May 6th, Nghe An Power Company energized the Nam Cam 110kV power line and substation. This project is part of a component project within the "Efficient Power Grid in Medium and Small Cities" program, phase 2.
The ceremony was attended by Ms. Helga Margarete Barth, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Vietnam. Also present were Mr. Daniel Plankermann, Director of the German Reconstruction Bank (KfW) Office in Vietnam, and members of the German Embassy and the KfW Office in Vietnam.
The ceremony was attended by comrades: Luong Minh Thanh - Deputy General Director of the Northern Power Corporation; Phung Thanh Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Also present were Mr. Banh Hong Hien - Director of Nghe An Power Company and leaders of departments, Nghi Loc district, Nam Cam Industrial Park, Southeast Economic Zone and key officials of Nghe An Power Company.

The Nam Cam 110kV Transmission Line and Substation Project in Nghe An province is a component project within the "Efficient Grid in Medium and Small Cities" program - phase 2, funded by a loan from the German Government through the German Reconstruction Bank KfW.
The project commenced on September 29, 2021, to construct a new 110kV Nam Cam Substation with two semi-indoor, semi-outdoor transformers; and a 110kV connecting transmission line with a length of 1.137km and two circuits. The substation and transmission line are being built in Nghi Long commune, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province, with a total investment of nearly 76 billion VND.

With the orientation of developing Nghe An into a key industrial and service province in the North Central region, the commissioning of the Nam Cam 110kV transmission line and substation helps to reduce the load on neighboring substations, increase the reliability and stability of the power system throughout Nghi Loc district for the industrial zone, and meet the growing load demand in the large area.
The project not only contributes to improving the quality of electricity but also creates favorable conditions for socio-economic development, attracts investment, and creates jobs for local people. This is a strategically important project for Nghi Loc district and Nghe An province in the process of industrialization.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Luong Minh Thanh, Deputy General Director of the Northern Power Corporation, said that over the years EVNNPC has received financial support in the form of preferential loans from the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany through KfW Bank.
With access to loans from the German government, EVNNPC's power grid system has achieved its goals of increasing electricity supply capacity, improving power quality, enhancing power supply reliability, and ensuring safety standards for the distribution grid, while also laying the groundwork for the development of a smart grid in line with Vietnam's power system modernization roadmap.

The Nam Cam 110kV substation is one of the projects built with loan capital from the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany through the German Reconstruction Bank KfW, representing a tangible result of cooperation between the two countries and especially for Vietnam's electricity sector.
At the same time, the Deputy General Director of the Northern Power Corporation expressed his desire to continue receiving financial and technical support from partners, including the Federal Republic of Germany, to further improve the power grid infrastructure to meet the diverse power sources, especially the growth of renewable energy sources, green transition, and adaptation to climate change.

Expressing her admiration for the rapid development of Vietnam's power grid system, the quality of electricity supply, and the reduction in power losses over the past years, Ms. Helga Margarete Barth assessed that Vietnam's continuously decreasing power loss rate on the grid over the past 15 years has contributed to building a less carbon-emitting energy system.
Ms. Helga Margarete Barth stated that over the past 15 years, the Federal Republic of Germany has supported Vietnam, specifically EVN, in modernizing its energy infrastructure in a fair, sustainable manner, in line with societal development.
Expanding the power grid infrastructure to ensure supply, such as the Nam Cam 110kV Substation project, is a prerequisite for promoting the development of renewable energy.

The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Vietnam affirmed that cooperation in areas such as climate protection, renewable energy, and economic cooperation is an opportunity to celebrate the long-standing and increasingly deep relationship between Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Phung Thanh Vinh – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee – acknowledged and praised the efforts, urgency, seriousness, and high responsibility of the Northern Power Corporation, Nghe An Power Company, construction contractors, supervisory units, and related units in completing the project on schedule, ensuring technical requirements, quality, and safety.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that Nghe An province has always considered infrastructure development, especially electricity infrastructure, as one of its key tasks to create a solid foundation for industrial and socio-economic development. The completion and energization of the 110kV Nam Cam power line and substation today is clear evidence of the efforts, close coordination, and effectiveness among all levels of government, the Electricity sector, construction contractors, and consulting and supervision units.
In the overall development of the province, the People's Committee of Nghe An province acknowledges, highly appreciates, and cherishes the support and investment cooperation of the electricity sector in general, and of the Northern Power Corporation and Nghe An Power Company in particular. Over the past period, the electricity sector has promptly implemented comprehensive solutions to ensure electricity supply to meet the socio-economic development needs of Nghe An province, especially for projects supplying electricity to industrial zones to meet the production schedules of secondary investors.

At the same time, the leaders of Nghe An province are always clearly aware of and share the difficulties and pressures faced by the electricity sector in investing in power generation and transmission systems, as well as in the management and operation process, especially in the context of increasingly depleted domestic primary energy sources, the increasingly severe impacts of climate change; political conflicts have disrupted the supply chain, affecting the global energy market; and negatively impacting all aspects of socio-economic life.
The People's Committee of Nghe An province is committed to directing relevant departments, localities, and units to promptly carry out the necessary procedures according to regulations and create the best conditions for the Northern Power Corporation and its member units to implement investment projects in order to promptly meet the electricity needs of people and businesses, serving the socio-economic development of the province.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed confidence that, after the 110kV Nam Cam substation comes into operation, businesses in the industrial park will feel secure in investing and producing, contributing to strong breakthroughs in the province's economic development.
At the same time, it was affirmed that the commissioning of the Nam Cam 110kV Substation is a positive symbol of cooperation and development between the Federal Republic of Germany and Vietnam in general, and Nghe An province in particular.
