On the afternoon of December 20th, the Vietnamese futsal team returned home, concluding their participation in the 33rd SEA Games. The entire team was divided into two groups, traveling to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to return to their respective clubs, continue training, and prepare for upcoming plans.

At the 33rd SEA Games, although they did not achieve their medal target, the Vietnamese futsal team had important opportunities to gain experience against top regional rivals such as Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. The tournament was seen as a valuable test of their strength and competitive spirit, especially in the context of a team undergoing a significant rejuvenation process.
Aiming for the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship Finals.
The team's next important goal is the 2026 AFC Futsal Championship, scheduled to take place from January 27th to February 7th, 2026 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The tournament will bring together the 16 strongest teams in the continent to compete for the champion.

According to the draw results, the Vietnamese futsal team is in Group B along with defending runners-up Thailand, Kuwait, and Lebanon. This is considered a challenging group, but also an opportunity for coach Diego Giustozzi's team to demonstrate their capabilities and compete for a spot in the knockout round.
Drawing on the experience gained from the SEA Games 33 and the long-term preparation plan from the Vietnam Football Federation, the Vietnamese futsal team is embarking on a new journey with the determination to improve their skills and aim for success on the continental stage.
