The tilapia sausage project won first prize in the 2024 Flag-up Finals.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of April 16th, Vinh University held the final round of the "Flag-up - Searching for startup ideas and projects among students in the 2023-2024 academic year" competition.
Attending the final night were representatives from the Department of Science and Technology, leaders from Vinh University, experts, the judging panel, the competing teams, and a large number of students from Nghe An province.

The competition is an opportunity for youth union members to express their aspirations, offer suggestions, and propose recommendations related to the implementation of socio-economic development policies and strategies.
Through this competition, we aim to promote and support creative and entrepreneurial activities among young people; provide entrepreneurial knowledge; seek out and honor innovative entrepreneurial ideas; and accompany young people in establishing themselves and their careers.

After more than four months since launching the 2024 Flag Up Competition, the Organizing Committee has selected 14 projects from over 60 applications and conducted the preliminary round, advancing them to the Semi-finals. Following the Semi-finals, the Organizing Committee will select the 10 best teams to participate in the Finals.
The 10 finalist projects include: My Green - a solution to minimize food waste; Hanatea Flower Tea; Beauty; Developing unique products using 3D printing technology - 3D Maker; OCUS sausages - sausages made from tilapia; Investing in the production and business of bottled fruit juices - Sipsoothie - a solution from nature; Farmlink; Production and business of orange products; Production of black garlic and honey drinks from ginger, garlic, and sugarcane; Ismart personal investment management application.

The projects that reached the finals were judged to be quite practical and have the potential to succeed in future startups.
In the final round, competing teams must go through two stages. Stage 1 involves a visual product display and project presentation, and Stage 2 is a question-and-answer session with the judging panel.
After more than two hours of intense competition, the organizing committee fairly and objectively judged the projects and awarded prizes including 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, and 4 consolation prizes.

The OCUS Sausage project – sausages made from tilapia – by the team of authors: Vo Thi My Tam, Le Dinh Khanh Duy, Nguyen Thi Lan, Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, Nguyen Dai Phuoc, and Nguyen Thi Khanh Linh, excellently won first prize overall.
