Tourists choked up and shed tears before each Truong Bon relic.

During the resistance war against the US to save the country, Truong Bon was a key point on the strategic route to support the great front line in the South. Here, under the rain of bombs and bullets, the army and people of Nghe An with the spirit of "the heart can stop beating, but the road cannot be blocked"; "living clinging to the bridge, clinging to the road; dying steadfastly and bravely" still maintained the traffic flow for convoys and troops to the front line and 1,240 outstanding sons of the army, police, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers fell into the Motherland. Notably, on October 31, 1968, 13 Youth Volunteers of Squad 2 - "Steel Squad" of Company 317, Team 65, Nghe An Youth Volunteers General Team heroically sacrificed their lives.

Truong Bon relic site has been recognized as a National Historical Relic site (in 2008) - a "Red Address" educating revolutionary traditions for today's and tomorrow's young generations.

The delegations of former Youth Volunteers and veterans visiting Truong Bon were filled with emotion as if they were returning to the old battlefield, where they once devoted their youth to the country. There, many of their friends have remained in their twenties like the Truong Bon martyrs.

In the sacred atmosphere, next to the common grave, everyone was moved to listen to the narrator tell about the coordinates of Truong Bon fire and the heroic sacrifice of 13 Youth Volunteer Soldiers on the morning of October 31, 1968.

Ms. Tran Thi Mau (68 years old), from Quang Xuong district, Thanh Hoa province, shared: “I was extremely moved when I visited Truong Bon historical relic site. Standing in front of the graves of the Youth Volunteers, hearing about Truong Bon, I really could not hold back my tears. I would like to offer incense to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the Fatherland, for the cause of liberating the South and unifying the country.”

Visiting Truong Bon in late October, the 51st anniversary of Truong Bon victory, left in everyone's heart many emotions, respect and pride in the traditions of their homeland and country.

Truong Bon - a place that marks many painful losses, is also a place that demonstrates the spirit of Vietnamese revolutionary heroism. The Fatherland and homeland will forever remember and be grateful for the great contributions of generations of fathers and brothers.

Visiting the relic site, many tourists lingered in front of the steles, reading each line carefully to better understand the "fire coordinates" of the past, the fierce yet heroic years of living and fighting of our army and people in the resistance war against America.
