According to RIA Novosti on March 1st, representatives of the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) party have endorsed US President Donald Trump following failed negotiations with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House. The AfD called for peace in Ukraine, "even without Zelensky."

Earlier, Fox News reported that, following a public argument with leader Zelensky at the White House, President Trump had asked Zelensky to leave and the rare earth metals agreement had been canceled.

AfD co-chair Tino Krupalla believes President Trump is canceling talks with Ukrainian President Zelensky because Kyiv is not ready for peace. "However, peace must be achieved – even without President Zelensky. This is not a matter of raw materials, but a matter of common sense. Since the EU and Germany cannot act as mediators, the US and Russia must reach an agreement," Krupalla wrote on his X social media account, reiterating that the AfD has been fighting for peace for years.

Earlier reports indicated that Friedrich Merz, leader of the Christian Democratic Union and Christian Social Union – who won the German parliamentary elections – had assured Zelensky that Germany would continue to support him following his unsuccessful negotiations with the US President.

Unlike the German party leader, Czech President Petr Pavel expressed his support for Ukraine "more than ever" following the war of words between Trump and Zelensky.

"We stand with Ukraine more than ever. It's time for Europe to step up its efforts," President Pavel wrote on Channel X after Presidents Trump and Zelensky met in Washington.

Sharing the same view, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store and Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen condemned the argument between the US and Ukrainian leaders at the White House and expressed their support for Kyiv.

"What we saw today at the White House is serious and sad. Ukraine still needs American support," Prime Minister Store said in an interview with the Norwegian publication Dagbladet.

Danish Foreign Minister Rasmussen said he was “shocked” to see what was happening at the White House, and also expressed support for the Kiev regime.

"This is a major blow to Ukraine. And that's not what's needed right now. There must be room for constructive dialogue," said the head of the Danish Foreign Ministry.
