Representatives of the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) party have endorsed US President Donald Trump after failed talks with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House, RIA Novosti reported on March 1. The AfD called for peace in Ukraine, "even without Mr. Zelensky."

Earlier, Fox News reported that, after a public argument with leader Zelensky at the White House, President Trump asked Mr. Zelensky to leave and the signing of the agreement on rare earth metals was canceled.

AfD co-chair Tino Krupalla said that President Trump is canceling negotiations with Ukrainian President Zelensky because Kiev is not ready for peace. "However, peace must be achieved - even without President Zelensky. This is not a question of raw materials, but of common sense. Since the EU and Germany cannot act as mediators, the US and Russia must come to an agreement," Krupalla wrote on his account on the social network X, recalling that the AfD has been fighting for peace for many years.

Earlier, it was reported that Friedrich Merz, leader of the Christian Democratic Union and Christian Social Union, who won the election to the German parliament, assured Mr. Zelensky that Germany would continue to support him after his unsuccessful negotiations with the US President.

Unlike the German party leader, Czech President Petr Pavel expressed his stance on Ukraine “more than ever”, after the Trump-Zelensky war of words.

"We stand with Ukraine more than ever. It is time for Europe to step up its efforts," President Pavel wrote on Channel X after President Trump and Zelensky met in Washington.

Sharing the same view, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store and Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen condemned the dispute between the US and Ukrainian leaders at the White House and expressed support for Kiev.

“What we saw today at the White House is serious and sad. Ukraine still needs American support,” Prime Minister Store said in an interview with the Norwegian publication Dagbladet.

Danish Foreign Minister Rasmussen said he was “shocked” to see what was happening in the White House, and also expressed support for the Kiev regime.

"This is a big blow to Ukraine. And that is not what is needed at this time. There must be room for constructive dialogue," the head of the Danish Foreign Ministry said.
