Germany to host Euro 2024
The three-time Euro champions beat Türkiye 12-4 in the final round of UEFA voting.
The 17-member UEFA executive committee voted on September 27 to select the host country for Euro 2024. Türkiye missed out on its first major tournament, receiving only four votes (one blank). This is the fourth time they have failed to host the Euros, after 2008, 2012 and 2016. In 2016, Türkiye lost by just one vote to France.

Speaking after being given the responsibility, former German captain Philipp Lahm said: "I am proud of my friends who helped bring Euro 2024 to Germany. We will have a few years to prepare the best for the tournament. We have many ideas and are ready to share them with everyone."
The Olympic Stadium in Berlin will host the finals of the tournament, which will feature 24 teams and 51 matches. The other nine host cities are Cologne, Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich and Stuttgart.
Euro 2020 will be held in 12 cities across Europe, with Wembley Stadium (England) hosting the semi-finals and final. Portugal is the defending champion.
