Germany to host Euro 2024
The three-time European champions beat Türkiye 12-4 in the final UEFA vote.
The UEFA Executive Committee – comprising 17 members – voted on September 27th to select the host country for Euro 2024. Türkiye missed the opportunity to host a major tournament for the first time, receiving only four votes (one abstention). This marks their fourth failed bid to host the Euro, following their previous failures in 2008, 2012, and 2016. In 2016, Türkiye lost to France by only one vote.

Speaking after being given the responsibility, former Germany captain Philipp Lahm said: "I am proud of the friends who helped bring Euro 2024 to Germany. We will have a few years to prepare as best as we can for the tournament. We have many ideas and are ready to share them with everyone."
The Olympic Stadium in Berlin will host the final of the tournament, featuring 24 teams and 51 matches. Nine other cities are also participating: Cologne, Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich, and Stuttgart.
Euro 2020 will be held in 12 cities across Europe, with Wembley Stadium (England) hosting the semi-finals and final. Portugal are the defending champions.
