Germany has decided to deploy the Patriot air defense missile system in Poland.
(Baonghean.vn) - Germany has refused to deploy the Patriot air defense missile system in Ukraine. Instead, the system will be located in Poland. This information was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Poland, Mariusz Blaszczak.
Earlier, German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht announced an agreement with her Polish counterpart for German Eurofighter fighter jets to patrol Polish airspace and for the deployment of Patriot air defense missile systems in the country.

Subsequently, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Chairman of the ruling Law and Justice Party (PiS) Jaroslaw Kaczynski, and Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak floated the idea of deploying the German Patriot air defense missile system in Ukraine.
Posting on his Twitter account, Minister Blaszczak wrote: "After speaking with the German Defense Minister, I regret to announce the decision to refuse support for Ukraine in deploying Patriot missiles in the west of the country to enhance the security of Polish and Ukrainian citizens. The two sides have begun to agree on the transfer of missile launchers to Poland and their connection to our control system."
