Will Germany and Russia soon resume energy cooperation?
Cooperation between Russia and Germany in the energy sector could be resumed within the next 10 years.

According to RT on November 16, Steffen Conte, a member of the German Parliament from the Alternative for Germany party, called for a resumption of energy cooperation between Russia and Germany in an interview with RIA Novosti. He expressed hope that this cooperation would be resumed quickly within the next 10 years.
MP Steffen Conte strongly criticized Germany's potential sale of Nord Stream 2 to American investor Stephen Lynch. "It's insane. It's a sign of irrational politics. This is how Europe, and especially Germany, is being plundered, simply because of an obsession with ending cooperation with Russia," he said.
The MP noted that, despite claims that Germany had rejected energy sources from Russia, Berlin in fact continued to purchase them through intermediaries, for which it paid significantly more.
"Germany and Russia could revive the project without any problems. However, the German authorities only want to invite a third party because they don't want to do anything themselves," said MP Steffen Conte.
When asked whether negotiations on this matter were underway between German and American companies, Mr. Conte said he had no such information.
American investor Stephen Lynch first expressed his desire to acquire the Nord Stream 2 pipeline late last year. According to The New York Times, Lynch believes that Europe will eventually return to Russian gas. The newspaper reported that in May, he attempted to convince senior German officials of his "bold plan to acquire the Russian underwater pipeline."
In June, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak stated that the government had not received any requests from anyone to purchase gas pipelines.
