Russia will take retaliatory measures against threats to its security – Vladimir Shamanov, head of the State Duma's Defense Committee, declared ahead of a statement by the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated that NATO would have to take "measures" if Russia did not return to compliance with the INF Treaty. According to Stoltenberg, Russia only had five weeks left to "save the treaty," and if Russia did not comply, NATO would have a "appropriate and coordinated response."
"Mr. Stoltenberg is an irresponsible chatterbox. Therefore, we have little regard for his opinions," said Vladimir Shamanov, head of the State Duma's Defense Committee.
"The Russian President has made it clear that wherever American assets appear, threatening Russia's security, we will take retaliatory measures. We will do it precisely, and we will disregard whatever they intend to do," Shamanov told Sputnik.
