Making up an affair to kill a benefactor

The Criminal Investigation Agency of Long Ho District Police (Vinh Long Province) announced today that they are temporarily detaining suspect Duong Quang Long (50 years old, residing in Than Binh Hamlet, Tan Long Hoi Commune, Mang Thit District) to investigate the act of "Murder".

The victim was Nguyen Van Ky (46 years old, residing in Long An commune, Long Ho district).

According to the investigation, Ms. Le Thi Le (Mr. Ky's wife) works as a clothing seller at the market. Long sells sandals on the move, so the two families became close and often visited each other. Mr. Ky has two children studying in Can Tho City and working outside. Every day, his wife goes to the market to sell, while Mr. Ky stays home to farm and raise cows.

Long, although a businessman, often comes to Ky's house to borrow money. Recently, Long came to Ky's family to borrow 10 million VND to buy goods to sell for Tet. However, Long spent it all, so he had the idea of ​​robbing Ky's family.

Long knew very well all the activities of Mr. Ky's family, that is, at dawn, Ms. Le went to the market to sell her goods, and at this time no one knew about the crime. At about 4:30 a.m. on December 29, 2016, Long hid the piece of wood on his person and rode his motorbike from his house to Mr. Ky's house, about 15km. When they arrived, Ms. Le had already packed her goods and brought them to the market to sell.

Long pretended that his car was broken down and called out to Mr. Ky to help fix it. Without any suspicion, Mr. Ky took out a flashlight and tried to fix the car, but Long hit him repeatedly on the head with a piece of wood, making him dizzy. After that, Long took Mr. Ky into the house. At this time, Nguyen Thi Cam Linh (21 years old - Mr. Ky's daughter), heard the noise and went out first to see, then discovered that her father was injured and shouted for help.

Long also looked panicked and said: "Your father was hit in the head by a falling tree and taken to the emergency room."

Mr. Ky was taken to Can Tho General Hospital for treatment and is now out of danger. Suspecting that the incident had unusual signs, Mr. Ky's family reported it to the police. Upon receiving the report, the police invited Long to come in for questioning. Initially, Long confessed that because he had an illicit relationship with Ms. Le, he had the intention of killing Mr. Ky so that he could have the relationship freely.

Through the police's investigation, Long's testimony was proven to be false. Only then did Long bow his head and admit that he wanted to kill Ky to rob his property, and that he and the victim's wife had no romantic relationship. Long's plan failed because the victim's daughter came home that day and discovered the incident in time.
