Using a sickle to slash a forest ranger in the headquarters

(Baonghean.vn) – Mr. Bui Quang Nam – Head of Thanh Chuong District Forest Ranger Department said that a forest ranger of the department was recently injured by a local resident who broke into the headquarters and used a sickle to slash him.

Accordingly, at around 3:00 p.m. on June 24, while working at the headquarters, Mr. Vo Yen Manh - a ranger at Hoa Quan Forest Ranger Station (located in Hamlet 11, Thanh Huong Commune, Thanh Chuong District) was slashed in the face with a sickle by Mr. Hoang Van Dung (a local resident).

Mr. Manh used his hand to block the attack, so the sickle hit his mouth and right hand, causing injuries. The victim was then taken to Thanh Huong Commune Health Station for first aid and then transferred to Thanh Chuong District General Hospital. By the evening of the same day, the victim was transferred to the Provincial General Hospital.

According to Mr. Hoang Van Sy - an officer at Hoa Quan Forest Ranger Station, who witnessed the incident, Mr. Dung and Mr. Manh had had some words before. A few minutes later, Mr. Dung walked from his house through the back door into the station (Mr. Dung's house is next to the forest ranger station), holding a sickle in his hand. After sitting and talking for a few sentences, Mr. Dung swung the sickle and slashed Mr. Manh. The incident was so unexpected that no one could intervene.

Immediately after the incident, the forest ranger station took Mr. Manh to the emergency room and reported the incident to his superiors and the Thanh Huong Commune Police and Thanh Chuong District Police. Immediately afterwards, the police force went to the scene and took statements from the relevant parties to investigate the cause of the incident.
