Using eggshells and coffee grounds to create the interior of a Porsche 911.

Currently, while manufacturers are investing in and developing electric vehicles for the future to reduce carbon emissions, some other brands are also beginning to introduce designs and features that are closer to nature and more environmentally friendly. Recently, Callum used various everyday waste products, mainly eggshells and coffee grounds, to complete the interior of an old Porsche 911.

While other brands create environmentally friendly materials that are more difficult to source, Callum has created "green materials" that are more readily available in everyday life. The company has extracted used coffee grounds, eggshells, red bean residue, walnuts, and rice to create the elegant interior of this Porsche 911.

Based on research from companies specializing in eco-friendly materials, Callum discovered that eggshells mixed with resin can create a smooth, opaque material with a glossy or textured surface depending on preference. Callum used it to make window control components. Adding walnuts to the mixture increased the recyclability to 84%.

Meanwhile, rice and red beans can be combined to create an opaque material for lamp housings, switches, etc. Used coffee grounds can be used as a flame retardant. A fabric called Camira, made from marine plastic waste, is finished into seating, and Feline, a soft material made from PET plastic bottles, is made into seat cushions.

Currently, Callum is also researching and developing alternative interior options to previously common materials to help make a car as environmentally friendly as possible. BMW has also revealed information about the iVision, which is made from 100% recycled materials, and Volvo has also made certain efforts in using sustainable materials for the EX90.
