Nghe An students apply technology to exploit medicinal potential under forest canopy

A group of Nghe An high school students have proposed applying Blockchain technology to the production and trading of medicinal herbs under the canopy of natural forests. This startup idea promises not only to increase the value of products but also to support sustainable livelihoods for ethnic minorities.

Summary and handover of the project to sponsor medicinal plant planting under the forest canopy in Tuong Duong

On the afternoon of January 7, the People's Committee of Tuong Duong district coordinated with the Executive Board of the Project "Supporting communities in buffer zone communes to develop medicinal plants under forest canopy to increase income and conserve biodiversity in the Western Nghe An World Biosphere Reserve" to organize a conference to summarize the project.
Tuong Duong has the first OCOP product from growing medicinal herbs under the forest canopy.

At the end of December 2024, after 2 years of implementing medicinal plant growing models under the forest canopy for purple velvet antler, people of Yen Hoa commune (Tuong Duong) had the first OCOP product of the commune from this new model.
