The North-South railway will be open this afternoon (October 17).

As expected, from 6pm on October 17, the road will be cleared, relieving the railway congestion on the Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City railway route through the Central region.

Previously, the historic flood over the past 3 days caused the North-South railway line, through Quang Binh province, to be eroded, damaged and paralyzed.

Mr. Do Quang Van, Director of Saigon Railway Transport Branch - Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company said that the railway industry is mobilizing maximum forces to overcome this incident in order to soon reconnect the route.

According to Mr. Van, it is expected that at 6:00 p.m. tonight (October 17), the North-South railway line will be open. Specifically, the train schedule is as follows:

At Saigon station:

- On October 17, trains running normally include: SE8, SE6, TN2, SE2, SE4 (direct to Hanoi). SE22 to Vinh,

- Trains to Qui Nhon, Nha Trang, and Phan Thiet are still running normally as before.

At Hanoi station:

- October 17: Trains TN1, SE1, SE3 run to Saigon. Train SE19 goes straight to Da Nang station.

- October 18: Trains SE7, SE5, TN1, SE1, SE3 go directly to Saigon station.

At Da Nang station:

October 18: Train SE20 goes straight to Hanoi station.
