The North-South railway line will reopen this afternoon (October 17).

According to projections, the railway line between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in the central region will be reopened and the congestion cleared from 6 PM on October 17th.

Previously, the historic floods of the past three days caused erosion, damage, and paralysis of the North-South railway line, specifically the section passing through Quang Binh province.

Mr. Do Quang Van, Director of the Saigon Railway Transport Branch – Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company, said that the railway industry is mobilizing maximum resources to overcome this incident in order to restore the line as soon as possible.

According to Mr. Van, the North-South railway line is expected to be reopened at 6 PM this evening (October 17th). Specifically, the train schedule is as follows:

At Saigon Station:

- On October 17th, the following trains will operate normally: SE8, SE6, TN2, SE2, SE4 (direct to Hanoi). SE22 goes to Vinh.

- Train services between Qui Nhon, Nha Trang, and Phan Thiet are still running as usual.

At Hanoi Station:

- October 17th: Trains TN1, SE1, and SE3 arrive in Saigon. Train SE19 goes directly to Da Nang station.

- October 18th: Trains SE7, SE5, TN1, SE1, and SE3 go directly to Saigon Station.

At Da Nang train station:

October 18th: Train SE20 goes directly to Hanoi station.
