The flood bypass road is in serious disrepair.

(Baonghean) - The A35 inter-communal road (flood-avoidance ring road) is rapidly deteriorating, with the road surface riddled with potholes. In some places, large puddles have formed, completely blocking the road and making travel extremely dangerous for residents.

Many sections of the road have turned into rivers.

The A35 inter-communal road connects the communes of Nghi Yen, Nghi Dong, and Nghi Hung, then crosses National Highway 48E. This road is of significant importance for socio-economic development, as well as ensuring national security and defense.

However, the road has deteriorated rapidly recently, with the surface riddled with potholes. In some places, large puddles have formed, completely blocking the road and making travel extremely dangerous for residents.

Mr. Bui Van Manh from Hamlet 2, Nghi Dong Commune, said: "The most dangerous time is during the rainy season, when the road is slippery, full of potholes and puddles of water that act like traps for road users. We have to transport soil and gravel by truck to fill in the potholes and drain the water to prevent accidents."

People are draining the water to avoid endangering road users.

Mr. Pham Van Loi, a resident of Hamlet 8, Nghi Dong commune, who lives right next to this road section, said: "The households along both sides of the road are greatly affected. During the rainy season, it floods, and during the dry season, it's dusty. We only hope that the authorities will upgrade the road soon to create favorable conditions for people to travel."

In response to this situation, the People's Committee of Nghi Dong commune has implemented several temporary solutions to address the damage on this road. These include coordinating with the construction units working on the N5 project to use crushed stone to fill and level all potholes on the road surface; adding soil to eroded road shoulders where they are lower than the asphalt surface; and maintaining and dredging drainage ditches to prevent waterlogging and maintain roadbed structure.

Given the current state of deterioration of this road, it is more urgent than ever for relevant authorities and units to promptly implement solutions for repair and upgrading to ensure the safety of people and vehicles using it.
