According to the latest revelation from manager Arsene Wenger, Cazorla's condition has taken a turn for the worse. It is highly likely that the Spanish midfielder will remain sidelined for approximately 10 weeks due to an ankle injury.
Cazorla's last appearance was in October last year. To date, the former Malaga and Villarreal midfielder has only made 11 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal. Speaking to the press, manager Wenger said: "He's still not ready to return to training. He's had a little trouble, and we've spoken to the medical team to see what the situation is."
Hopefully he'll be able to return soon. Once you start training, it can take up to six weeks to get ready. He's not ready for that yet. Hopefully, in about three to four weeks, Cazorla will be able to be on the pitch."
Currently, Arsenal are using Granit Xhaka and Francis Coquelin for the two midfield positions. However, in the upcoming intense period, Arsenal fans will greatly miss the talent and experience of Cazorla.
Arsenal are currently fifth in the Premier League table and will be playing away at Swansea's Liberty Stadium today.
