Ford Explorer Platinum 2016 - American-style SUV for Vietnamese customers
The top-of-the-line version of this SUV has appeared in Ho Chi Minh City, featuring a 3.5 V6 EcoBoost engine and numerous premium features.
Recently, private car import showrooms have been continuously bringing in 2016 models of American-style SUVs, such as the Ford F-150, Honda Pilot, and Ford Explorer, from the Limited to the Platinum versions.
From styling to design, these SUVs embody distinctive American characteristics: rugged, powerful, and masculine. The 2016 Ford Explorer Platinum features a mesh grille, a stylish front bumper, and horizontal L-shaped LED daytime running lights. The LED taillights are connected by a chrome horizontal bar, and the aggressive rear bumper is highlighted by chrome dual exhaust pipes. It also comes with 20-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels.

The interior features leather upholstery, fine wood trim, and chrome accents. Unlike the Limited version, the Explorer has a 2+2+3 seating configuration with three rows of seats. The third row folds 50/50 to create ample cargo space. It includes multi-zone automatic climate control, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a 5-way power adjustable steering wheel. The infotainment system is from Sony. Additional features include a sunroof, heated and ventilated seats, MyFord Touch connectivity, and numerous safety features.
The 2016 Explorer Titanium uses a 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine producing 365 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 474 Nm at 3,500 rpm. The compression ratio is 10.0:1. It features a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission and intelligent all-wheel drive.
According to the manufacturer, the 2016 Ford Explorer Platinum consumes 14.7 liters/100 km in city driving, 10.7 liters on the highway, and 13.07 liters in combined driving.
Ford hasn't made many changes to the Explorer beyond the new engine. The American automaker wouldn't dare "tease" the success the Explorer is already enjoying. Compared to rivals like the Toyota Highlander or Honda Pilot, the Ford Explorer proves to be superior, right from its exterior design and engine.
