Ford introduces the 2018 Explorer.

The large SUV model receives minor design upgrades, new paint colors and options, and some new technological features.

The most notable exterior upgrades are the redesigned grille and new fog lights, as well as differences in the front and rear bumpers. The 3.5 EcoBoost version, in particular, features a four-pipe exhaust system.

Ford also added four new paint color options: wine red, golden brown, milky white, and metallic blue, along with five new wheel options.

The Detroit-based automaker also integrated new technologies into the 2018 Explorer, including 4G LTE connectivity andThe Wi-Fi hotspot supports up to 10 devices simultaneously within a 15-meter range. This connection allows users to remotely link with the vehicle using the FordPass app on their phone to start, lock, unlock, and locate the car from almost anywhere.

In the 2018 version, Ford also offers the Explorer a safety and intelligence package, including: adaptive cruise control.and collision warning with brake assist feature, hBlind spot monitoring system, rear cross-traffic alert.Features include lane-keeping assist, adaptive headlights, and rain-sensing wipers.

The 2018 Explorer still uses the same engine.It's currently profitable for Ford. The standard version is a 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 273 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and a maximum torque of 420 Nm at 3,000 rpm.

The Explorer Sport and Platinum versions use a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 EcoBoost engine producing 365 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 474 Nm at 3,500 rpm. All power is transmitted to all four wheels via a 6-speed Select Shift automatic transmission.

The 2018 Ford Explorer will be available in the US and Canada this fall; pricing has not yet been announced. Ford is currently developing the next generation of the Explorer.
