Ford Ranger 2018 with new look appears in Thailand
The new upgraded version of the 2018 Ford Ranger pickup truck has a number of exterior changes including a redesigned grille, headlights and daytime LED strips.
Images of the new Ford Ranger pickup were posted on the Headlightmag website by a member of the Ford Ranger Club in Thailand – where this small pickup truck is produced for the global market.
This is still the Ford Ranger T6 generation introduced since 2011 but has undergone several improvements, especially Ford from the 2015 version.
Compared to the current standard version (excluding the Wildtrak version), the exterior design changes of the 2018 Ford Ranger are insignificant. The most different thing on the new version is the radiator grille, because now the chrome bars will no longer extend to the front bumper. The chrome bar in the middle that “holds” the “Ford” logo in the old version will be replaced by 2 smaller and longer bars. The word “Ranger” at the top of the radiator grille is also not as big as before.
The grille will now be more matte, no longer glossy, but will look a bit like the grille on the Ford Everest. Along with that are the redesigned headlights and daytime running lights. In these images, we can also see the word "Limited" on the side of the car, so this could be a higher-end variant than the XLT. There will definitely still be 2 versions Wildtrak and FX4 for those who like the ruggedness.
The current Ranger is powered by a 2.2-litre Duratorq TDCi engine with outputs ranging from 125 to 160bhp and 320 to 385Nm of torque depending on the variant. There is also a 3.2-litre five-cylinder turbodiesel option with 200bhp and 470Nm of torque. These engine versions will be mated to a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.
The new Ford Ranger Raptor is expected to be equipped with a 2.0-liter EcoBlue twin-turbo diesel engine with a maximum capacity of 190 and 215 horsepower, combined with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
