Forsberg Racing NISMO GT-Z: a modified version of the Nissan Z NISMO
The Forsberg Racing NISMO GT-Z is based on the Nissan Z NISMO, incorporating performance components from NISMO, Z1, AMS, and APR; the car was showcased at SEMA and is expected to participate in the 2026 Gridlife Grand Touring.
Forsberg Racing collaborated with Nissan to create the NISMO GT-Z, based on the Nissan Z NISMO platform, focusing on track performance. The car is equipped with a range of performance components from NISMO and suppliers such as Z1, AMS, Recaro, and APR Performance, ready for the SEMA stage and planned to compete in the Gridlife Grand Touring in 2026.
From Nissan Z NISMO to GT-Z: the continuation of a relationship.
Forsberg Racing has made its mark in drifting, expanding into eSports and other competitions. The team, led by driver and workshop manager Chris Forsberg, has a history of collaboration with Nissan; the NISMO GT-Z is the latest achievement, developed from the standard Nissan Z NISMO with the philosophy of "using the right parts, fine-tuning them the right way."
NISMO chassis: comprehensive tuning for the racetrack.
The modifications begin with the suspension and subframe. At the front, the bike uses an adjustable upper control arm, shock absorber struts, and outer tie rods. The rear axle has adjustable camber, toe, and caster arms. Both front and rear utilize NISMO performance stabilizer bars, coil spring shock absorbers, and upgraded subframe bushings.
Wheel set: NISMO prototype rims, large Advan A052 tires.
The GT-Z uses prototype NISMO LM-RS1 wheels measuring 18 x 10.5 inches, paired with Yokohama Advan A052 tires: 295/35 at the front and 315/30 at the rear. NISMO valve caps and forged nuts complete the wheel configuration.
Engine and intake: Z1 category-centric
The engine bay makes extensive use of Z1 Performance solutions: a cold air intake, a pair of VRX70B turbochargers, and an air-to-air intercooler. Z1 also offers a large-capacity, ribbed differential cover, a remote differential cooler, a catch can, and a billet-machined oil sandwich base compatible with the Concept Z oil cooler.
Fuel, exhaust, and brakes: a synchronized upgrade.
AMS contributed the high-pressure fuel pump and high-flow injectors. The exhaust system was a collaborative effort: Z1 supplied the stainless steel downpipe, and NISMO handled the cat-back exhaust. The racing brakes and cooling air ducts were supplied by Z1.
Cockpit and aerodynamics: driver-focused
Inside, NISMO provides the seatbelts; Recaro equips carbon fiber bucket seats; and Paragon offers a cooling system for the rider. Outside, the black-red-white livery features a clean, functional NISMO/Forsberg Racing identity. APR Performance contributes a GT-250 swan neck wing, front splitter, and a small front wing.
SEMA today, Gridlife Grand Touring 2026 tomorrow.
The model on display at SEMA is also a race car ready for the track, with plans to participate in the 2026 Gridlife Grand Touring. Visitors to the SEMA booth can experience the "flavor" of the GT-Z through the customizable Podium 1 racing simulator, racing seats, and immersive simulation configuration.
