On the afternoon of December 12th, the Vietnamese women's futsal team defeated Indonesia 3-1 in their opening match of the SEA Games 33 women's futsal tournament. Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang stated that the coaching staff was satisfied with the result after two challenging halves and considered this a stepping stone for the match against Myanmar on December 14th.

Key to the opening match
“The first match is always the hardest part of the whole season. The whole team overcame it,” coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang shared. He admitted that in the first half, the players “didn't get into the rhythm and execute the game well,” while Indonesia “improved a lot with their tight game,” causing quite a few difficulties.
After the break, Vietnam maintained the necessary stability to close out their opening match with a 3-1 victory — a result that reflected how the team confidently overcame initial tension and the challenges posed by their opponents.

Analysis by the coaching staff
Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang emphasized that the team will "continue to learn from experience for the players," reviewing video footage to adjust details of their playing style. The key is discipline and the ability to control the situation when the opponent presses and tightens space — something Indonesia did well and provided a real-world test in their opening match.
The tempo, passing rhythm, and attacking options will be reviewed via video. Simultaneously, the ability to transition defensively against Indonesia's tight defensive play will be useful data for developing a strategy for the match against Myanmar.
Preparing for Myanmar
After the match, the entire team prioritized recovery, reviewing video footage and analyzing the Indonesia vs. Myanmar game to refine their game plan. The goal was to improve their ability to get into the rhythm from the start and enhance the effectiveness of their gameplay.

VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan and VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu attended the match to encourage the team. Regarding logistics, the VFF proactively supplemented the menu with meals from restaurants recommended by the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand, ensuring adequate nutrition given the limited menu provided by the SEA Games organizing committee.
Earlier, Vice President Tran Anh Tu personally visited the hotel where the men's and women's futsal teams were staying in Nonthaburi to inspect living conditions and instruct the logistics department to coordinate closely with the hotel in providing services.

The significance of victory
The three points in the opening match not only provided a psychological advantage but also demonstrated the team's ability to adapt to Indonesia's tight defensive style. Building on that foundation, perfecting their rhythm and execution of the game right from the start will be key to achieving their goal against Myanmar.
