Game-addicted security guard causes 11 house break-ins

(Baonghean.vn) - Due to his gaming addiction, Thong broke into houses in Quan Hanh town and companies in Nam Cam Industrial Park 11 times to steal property.

On the morning of April 5, the Investigation Police Agency of Nghi Loc District Police issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and issue a detention order against Dinh Van Thong (born in 1998), a security guard at a company in Nam Cam Industrial Park, residing in Block 8, Quan Hanh town, for theft of property.

Previously, at 7:00 p.m. on March 30, 2017, Nghi Loc District Police received a report from Mr. Hoang Van Cuong (born in 1961), residing in Block 6, Quan Hanh Town, stating that his family had just been broken into by a thief, who stole 1 mobile phone and 1 wallet containing 1.87 million VND.

Upon receiving the report, Nghi Loc Police sent a working group to verify and isolate the suspect. Thereby, it emerged that Dinh Van Thong had many suspicious signs.

On April 3, the Investigation Agency summoned Dinh Van Thong to work. At first, the subject was evasive. However, with solid evidence, Dinh Van Thong had to admit all his crimes.

Accordingly, at 6:30 p.m. on March 30, the subject walked to Mr. Cuong's house. Upon arrival, Thong climbed over the fence and broke into the family's bedroom. Taking advantage of the absence of anyone watching, the subject stole the property as Mr. Cuong had declared and brought it home to hide.

During the extended investigation, Dinh Van Thong confessed that from the beginning of 2016 until now, he has committed 11 thefts at companies in Nam Cam Industrial Park and households in Quan Hanh Town. The stolen property includes: 03 mobile phones, 04 leather wallets with a total cash value of 37 million VND.
