The construction worker who craved drugs and the bitter end.

(Baonghean.vn) – While working as a laborer, Dung fell into drug addiction. Unable to quit, he bought drugs for personal use and was arrested by the police.

On March 30, the People's Court of Thai Hoa town sentenced Le Tien Dung (50 years old, residing in Tham hamlet, Nghia Hoan commune, Tan Ky district) to 40 months in prison for illegally possessing narcotics.

Earlier, on January 29th, noticing suspicious activity, the police in Thai Hoa town stopped Dung's vehicle for inspection. They discovered a plastic bag containing 3.47 grams of heroin on Dung's person.

Dũng confessed to the police that while working as a construction worker in the North, he was drawn into drug use and has been addicted ever since.

Returning home for Tet (Lunar New Year), driven by a craving for drugs, Dung took a bus from his home to the Thong Thu border gate (Que Phong) to find a source to buy drugs. There, Dung bought a packet of heroin from an unknown individual for 1.8 million VND.

After buying the drugs, Dung took a bus to Que Phong District Bus Station, slept for a while, and then took a bus home. Upon arriving home, Dung immediately took out some heroin to use.

At around 3 AM on January 29th, while on his way to visit an acquaintance in Nghia Thuan commune, Thai Hoa town, he was arrested by the police.
