The guy tricked his girlfriend into going abroad.
To have money to spend, Cut Kham Huong tricked and sold his girlfriend to China. This guy had to pay the price for his crime.
On August 19, Nghe An Provincial People's Court opened the first instance trial of defendant Cut Kham Huong (born 1995), residing in Huu Kiem commune, Ky Son district, for the crime of "Human trafficking".
According to the indictment, around April 2015, Huong was working in Mong Cai City (Quang Ninh) when she met a woman named Ly. This person introduced herself as being from Tuong Duong district, married and living in China.
Ly invited Huong to find women to sell to China, if they were successful, each woman would receive a “commission” of 90 million VND. In response to the invitation, Huong agreed and returned home to find “prey”.

In early July 2015, Huong's lover, Chich Thi Th. (born in 1999, residing in Bao Nam commune, Ky Son district) confided that her family was in difficult circumstances and wanted to work for a company to earn money to support her life. She asked Huong to take her to find a job.
Huong agreed and told Th. to invite her friend Moong Thi Kh. (born in 1999, residing in Bao Nam commune) to go with her. Thinking it was real, the two girls agreed to go.
After that, Huong took her lover and Ms. Kh. by bus to Quang Ninh. There, Huong was picked up by a woman arranged by Ly to go to China through an illegal route.
When she went to China, Cut Kham Huong sold her lover and Ms. Kh. to Ly for 182 million VND. Huong was afraid that the two victims would find out about the sale, so she tricked them into saying that "if you stay and marry a Chinese man, you will bring back 90 million VND to each family."
About 15 days later, Ly sold Ms. Th. to a Chinese man to marry for 195 million VND; and sold Ms. Kh. for 240 million VND.
As for the victim, after 5 years of being tricked and sold, in October 2020, Ms. Th. was allowed by her husband's family to return to Vietnam to visit her family. As for Ms. Kh., she returned to her country in February 2024.
In early March 2024, two victims filed a complaint against Cut Kham Huong with the police.
At the trial, the defendant admitted that he had committed the crime for greed. The defendant said he had spent all the VND182 million he had earned from human trafficking. He apologized to the two victims.
The panel of judges determined that the defendant’s actions violated the law and were dangerous to society. Considering the case as a whole, the panel sentenced defendant Cut Kham Huong to 8 years in prison. Regarding the civil aspect, the court ordered the defendant to compensate each victim 90 million VND.
