Digital Citizen Gala: Technology is changing the lives of Vietnamese people.
The program honored practical technological initiatives, from drones for flood relief and landslide warning applications to livestreaming the sale of agricultural products, demonstrating the widespread impact of digital transformation.
The Gala program "Digital Citizens: The Golden Key - Unlocking the Future," broadcast live on VTV1 on the evening of November 29th, depicted a powerful digital transformation journey in Vietnam through everyday stories. Co-organized by the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Vietnam Television, and Viettel Group, the event emphasized the role of technology in solving practical problems and opening up new opportunities for people nationwide.

Technology is an extended arm in disaster relief.
One of the highlights of the program is the stories of applying technology to support communities in difficult circumstances. A prime example is the story of Nguyen Dai Phat, 19 years old, who used a drone to transport food to people in flood-affected areas in Northern and Central Vietnam.
In addition, the launch of the website thongtincuuho.org within 4 hours created an effective rescue map, helping rescue teams quickly reach those trapped. This system was then synchronized with antoanmualu.org to optimize information sharing.

The program also introduced the "Landslide Vietnam" application, a disaster forecasting tool developed by a research team from the Faculty of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. This application is the result of nearly a decade of research, combining AI, IoT, and Big Data to help people proactively protect themselves from the risk of landslides.

Opening up economic opportunities from rural areas.
Digital transformation extends beyond just relief applications; it also opens up economic opportunities for people, especially in remote areas. Gala shared the story of Khe Banh village (Lao Cai) and tea cooperatives in Thai Nguyen, where digital technology is becoming a powerful tool in the fight against poverty.
Right on stage, Ms. Dinh Thi Tuyen, Head of Thuong village (Phuong Duc commune, Hanoi), conducted a livestream selling agricultural products, demonstrating the power of technology in connecting farmers with the market and overcoming geographical barriers.

Digital imprint in culture and life
The program also showcased the impact of digital transformation in many other areas of society, from digital government and digital healthcare to cultural preservation. The story of digitizing heritage at the National History Museum and director Truong Quoc Toan's 3D mapping film project at the Temple of Literature - National University provided novel experiences for visitors.

The participation of singer Double2T also brought a younger generation's perspective on the positive changes that digital transformation brings to the homeland. The overarching message of the Gala is the aspiration for a rapidly and sustainably developing digital nation, where every citizen, business, and government joins hands to break through, ensuring that no one is left behind in the new era.
