The software update limits the charging capacity of the affected Galaxy Note 7 to a maximum of 60%, minimizing potential risks. Additionally, the new software version features a new interface and battery indicator icons, helping users better understand the battery status of their Galaxy Note 7.

In Vietnam, the software update was rolled out at 2 AM on September 22nd. The update process was performed wirelessly.

With the redesigned Galaxy Note 7, the battery indicator icon is green in the notification bar, on the "Power off" screen, and on the "Always on" screen.

When customers see any three green battery indicator icons, they can rest assured that the device is safe to charge.

Previously, Samsung Vina also urged Vietnamese users to participate in the Galaxy Note 7 exchange program. The program applies to customers who purchased the device between August 19th and September 7th. Registration will take place at Samsung customer service centers, with a deadline of December 31st. The Galaxy Note 7 will be returned between October 1st and December 31st.

Customers who registered for a phone exchange before October 1st received a brand-new, unopened Galaxy A3 2016 to use as a replacement while waiting for their new Galaxy Note 7. After receiving the new Galaxy Note 7, customers have two options: return the Galaxy A3 2016 or keep the A-series smartphone and only pay 60% of its value. The Galaxy A3 is currently priced at 5,690,000 VND.
